Roxton, Texas is located on the Northeast Texas Trail situated among rolling hills
and bounded by two creeks, one of which is separated by a triple arched
masonry railroad trestle, the only one in Texas.
The Roxton Community Center's 13ft by 90ft mural wall suffered from
crumbling mortar and faded paint from years of weather requiring extensive
work to revive it. Shirley Cooper and Lou Carolyn Rutherford of Roxton
spearheaded the task of having the mural restored.
